WANA (Dec 22) – The Asian Junior Padel Championships concluded in Manama, Bahrain, with Iran securing top honors in the under-14 category and claiming the runner-up title in the under-18 division.

 

In the under-14 finals, Iranian duo Ramtin Rafiei and Bardia Choubineh triumphed over the UAE team with a decisive 2-0 victory, earning the prestigious continental title.

 

Meanwhile, in the under-18 category, Sadra Atefi and Bardia Sharifi faced a tough battle against Lebanon in the finals. Despite a strong effort, they were defeated 2-0, finishing as runners-up.

 

In the team competition, Iran narrowly missed the podium, losing 2-1 to Lebanon in the bronze medal match and settling for fourth place.

 

The Iranian squad, comprising 12 players and two coaches, competed under the slogan “Strong Iran.” Players included Sadra Atefi, Benjamin Esfandi, Bardia Sharifi, Resa Haddad, Ramtin Rafiei, Sepehr Mehrabakhsh, Amirreza Tahqiqi, Ilya Korkizadeh, Mehrad Mansouri, Armin Gandemani, Ali Taghizadeh, and Bardia Choubineh.

 

Head coach Maziar Yavari led the team, assisted by coach Rouhollah Mobaraki. The event showcased Iran’s growing prowess in padel on the Asian stage.
